Redundancy take home calculator

Reviewed: September 2026

Enter your redundancy or settlement package and see an estimate of what you'll actually receive after tax and National Insurance — not just the gross figure on your offer letter.

Why gross isn't what you receive

A £40,000 redundancy package doesn't mean £40,000 in your bank account. Parts of your package may be taxed as earnings, and qualifying payments above £30,000 may be taxed at your marginal rate.

Example

A package with £15,000 redundancy, £5,000 PILON and £2,000 holiday pay might result in significantly less take-home than £22,000 — because PILON and holiday pay are taxed as earnings with PAYE and NI.
